The kids were rough housing in the front room. All of a sudden, there's a huge crash, and Shannon starts crying.
Mom,"Did you break something?"
Shannon, age 3, "Yes. My head!"

Elizabeth, age 6, "This is a splendid toy!"

Life Will Change

H-girl (6) to Mom (30):  When you're 31, life will change because I'll be older then and will help out like I don't do now.

Shannon, age 3, "You know what this story is about?"

Taylor, age 8, (angrily) "You said you wouldn't kiss me!"

Elizabeth, age 6, "I said I wouldn't kiss you on the cheek or the lips."

Dad, "If anything touches your brain, I'm going to be worried."
Elizabeth, age 6, "Like a telephone pole, yeah!"

While praying for a family member, Elizabeth, age 6, "And bless Carli in Purpletello."

Moving ears?

Taylor, age 7, "Wait. I have to move my ear."

Mom was leaning over to get the silverware out of the dishwasher. She complained that she felt fat (she's 6 months pregnant).

Elizabeth, age 6, "You're not fat!"
Mom, "I'm not?"
Elizabeth, "No, you're straight!"

Elizabeth, age 6, " I didn't have any bad dreams! Then there was the twinkle, twinkle star."

Flap-jaw

Elliana (6 1/2) "My mouth isn't stretched out enough. Let's talk for a while."

Time has lost its wings

After a trip to the store that took longer than expected, Elliana (6 1/2) said, "Well, time sure didn't fly that time. Time walked!"

We are in the process of packing to move. Taylor, age 7, "You mean all of this is going to college?!"

Cowgirl Big Sister

At our ranch-themed family reunion, we told H-girl (5), who happened to be wearing her cowgirl hat and bandana, that she would soon be getting a baby brother or sister. After recovering from the initial, happy shock, here's what she said.
